Police operatives seized more than P95 million worth of illegal drugs in separate buy-bust operations in Quezon City and Caloocan City on Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.
Quezon City Police District arrested a male and female suspect in its operation in Cubao on Wednesday, 10 August at 2:30 a.m.
The suspects were identified as Riza Bilbao, aka Riza, 25, a native of Sultan Kudarat, and Alvin Rapinian, 26, a native of Alfonso Castañeda, Nueva Vizcaya. Investigation revealed the couple lives together.
They were said to be using online apps and various delivery services to distribute the drugs to their patrons.
Initial report said recovered from them were about P87.6 million worth of marijuana, kush or high-grade marijuana, shabu, cocaine, liquefied ecstasy and cannabis oil used as a vape flavor.
Among the drugs were 1.5 kilos of shabu valued at P10.2 million, about 85 kilos of marijuana valued at P10.2 million, about 35 kilos of kush valued at P4.9 million, a kilo of cocaine valued at P5.3 million, 7,594 pieces of ecstasy tablets valued at P12.91 million, two weighing scales, a cellular phone, and the buy-bust money amounting to P43.5 million.
All seized drug evidence will be turned over to District Forensic Unit for chemical analysis, while the suspects are currently under custody at Police Station 7.
Meanwhile, an operation by Caloocan police in Barangay 188, Tala, Caloocan City saw about P8 million worth of shabu taken from the suspects.
They were identified as Mamintal Baser, 34, a native of Baloi, Lanao del Norte, Bidori Ampuan, 56, of Saguiran, Lanao del Sur, and Lagman Sali, 40, a native of Saguiran, Lanao del Sur. They all reside in Barangay 188 in Tala, Caloocan City.
The suspects were arrested for selling nine knot-tied plastic bags containing a white crystalline substance for P1.6 million.
Recovered from the suspects were about a kilo of shabu with a street value of P6.8 million, nine knot-tied plastic bags each containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu and other pieces of evidence.
The operation was conducted by teams of the Regional Intelligence Division-Regional Drug Enforcement Unit and Station Drug Enforcement Unit of Caloocan City Police Station, supported by 6th and 9th Mobile Force Battalion, in coordination with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-National Capital Region.
All suspects will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
