Anne Curtis couldn’t avoid getting the jitters.
The pandemic had kept her away from a live audience, and going back to work felt strange.
“It’s all part of coming back to this world, right?” said the Filipino-Australian performer at her launch as the face of Amazon Prime Video in the Philippines.
She recalled feeling nervous before the start of her Luv-Anne concert at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila on 11 June.
Recently she returned to her co-hosting gig on It’s Showtime! which now airs on the Kapamilya channel, A2Z and TV5.
“I did that [Luv-Anne] and It’s Showtime! to get into the groove again,” Curtis admitted.
Is she ready to go back into acting?
“I’m slowly getting there. Acting is the next thing I want to do again,” she said.
Curtis, 37, won’t mind being cast in a local Amazon Prime Video project. “I would say yes. If the script is something that would interest me, definitely,” she said.
This month, viewers will find content in Filipino on Prime Video and the Prime Video app.
The streaming service likewise announced a forthcoming original show, Comedy Island: Philippines.
It’s described as an off-the-wall situational improvisation comedy challenge program set in a fictional mysterious island, Tawa-Tawa, that reappears after 100 years to commence the “centennial games.”
It features eight players, a mix of comedians and celebrities. Only one will emerge as winner and will receive “an essential gift that humanity needs.”
Comedy Island: Philippines, produced by Base Entertainment, will launch on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories around the world in 2023.
Some of the local titles available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video are Big Night, How to Love Mr. Heartless (15 August) and Whether The Weather Is Fine (10 October).
Amazon Prime Video is also home to exclusive Korean titles such as Nothing Serious and Toy Soldiers: Fake Men 2 The Complete, as well as anime hits like Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (21 December), the Hollywood blockbuster No Time to Die, Amazon Originals The Boys, The Terminal List, licensed US hit shows The Good Doctor S1-5, and the highly anticipated The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2 September).
