In a rare instance, a joint statement on 16 August bearing the letterheads of Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines, ARC Refreshments Corporation (maker of RC Cola) and Pepsi Cola Products Philippines confirmed “the industry is facing a shortage of Premium Refined Sugar — key ingredient in many of our products.”
The statement continued: “We are working closely with other stakeholders of the industry and the government to address the situation.”
