Copter crash leaves pilot dead

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga— Authorities reported on Wednesday that a helicopter crashed inside the Clark Freeport Zone on Tuesday which left its pilot dead while two others were injured.

I offer our deepest condolences to the family of Lumanlan during this difficult time and I send prayers of healing to the two other passengers who were hurt. I call on the Mabalaquenos to pray for the eternal repose of the soul of Lumanlan.

Initial reports identified the killed pilot as Diosdado Lumanlan, while the two injured individuals were identified as mechanics Ivan Abiong and Rodley Esogon.

Investigations by the Clark Development Corp. Public Safety Division revealed that the two mechanics were conducting technical repair on the 1973 helicopter with model MD369HS.

Upon the test flight, the helicopter crash landed in the vicinity of Nabcor area, which is part of the jurisdiction of the Clark Freeport Zone.

Following the mishap, Mabalacat City Mayor Cris Garbo ordered the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to look into the incident and determine what assistance the local government can provide.

Garbo also urged his constituents to pray for the repose of the dead victim, and the speedy recovery of the two injured.

“I offer our deepest condolences to the family of Lumanlan during this difficult time and I send prayers of healing to the two other passengers who were hurt. I call on the Mabalaquenos to pray for the eternal repose of the soul of Lumanlan,” Garbo said.
