The Bangsamoro government officials and the Philippine Army’s Joint Task Force Central are set to establish a systematic mechanism to “proactively resolve and prevent” the “rido” (clan wars) in the region.
This was discussed when Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Interim Chief Minister, Ahod Ebrahim, paid a courtesy call to JTFC and 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division Commander, MGen. Roy Galido, in Camp Siongco, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao over the weekend.
The eyed mechanism will avoid social displacement and disruption of people’s lives in the BARMM.
Ebrahim vowed the BARMM government is adamant about supporting and closely partnering with JTFC and 6ID to push rido settlement mechanisms, particularly in the Maguindanao area.
“Clan war greatly affects the peace and order as well as the progress of the province. I am very satisfied with the actions of 6ID including the local government being our partner in crafting solutions to disputing Moro family”, Ebrahim added.
Both officials likewise expressed mutual commitment to further strengthening peace-building efforts to ensure the implementation of inclusive policies for the interest and welfare of all Bangsamoro.
Galido emphasized “there’s no point in keeping back to violence like this clan war.”
Hence, the planned mechanism will not just end clan wars but also pushes development in the region by enticing investors to set up businesses in conflict-free Bangsamoro.
