A man was stabbed dead by a neighbor during a drinking spree in Cainta, Rizal on Friday night, the police said Saturday, identifying the fatality as Joseph Torebio of East Executive Village in Barangay Sto. Domingo.
Sto. Domingo was declared dead on arrival at a nearby hospital due to multiple stab wounds on his body. The suspect, identified as Leomar Garcia, was arrested shortly by the police.
Investigation showed that at around 10:30 p.m. the men were having a drinking session with their neighbors when a heated argument between them turned into a fist fight.
During the altercation, the suspect drew a knife and stabbed the victim several times before fleeing the scene of the crime.
Neighbors rushed the victim to the hospital but he succumbed shortly from his wounds.
