Bong Go aids more Ilocos Sur earthquake victims

Sen. Bong Go sent his team back to Ilocos Sur to provide assistance to quake-hit towns in four separate relief efforts from 18 to 19 August.

To ensure safe and efficient distributions, the team of Go mounted four separate relief efforts at Santa Maria Sports Complex, Sto. Domingo People Coliseum, and the respective municipal gymnasiums of San Emilio and Caoayan for a total of 2,088 earthquake victims from the towns of Santa Maria, Nagbukel, Santa, Burgos, Santiago, San Emilio, Sto. Domingo, San Ildefonso, Magsingal, San Juan, Caoayan, and Bantay.

“Mga kapatid kong Ilokano, huwag po kayong mawalan ng pag-asa. Kahit po napakahirap ng panahon ngayon, nasa gitna pa tayo ng pandemya at tinamaan pa po kayo ng lindol, huwag po kayong mag-alala dahil tayo po ay makakaahon muli basta po magtulungan tayo,” encouraged Go in his video message.

The outreach team then provided the victims with grocery packs, meals, masks, and shirts. They also gave away cellular phones, bicycles, and shoes to select residents.

Meanwhile, the Department of Social Welfare and Development was also present and extended financial aid through its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation program.

Last 31 July, Senators Go and Robinhood “Robin” Padilla personally visited Vigan City and handed assistance to earthquake victims.
