Sta. Mesa evening fire leaves 400 families homeless

Around 400 families were left homeless by a fire that broke out Sunday evening in Sta. Mesa, Manila.

According to the Bureau of Fire Protection, the fire started at 10:16 p.m. at the fourth floor of a residential house owned and occupied by Raniel Urbano. The fire quickly spread to other houses in Valencia Street, Sta. Mesa.

It reached the third alarm before firefighters declared fire out at 12:42 a.m., early Monday.

No injuries or casualties were reported during the fire. Arson investigators are still determining the cause and total damage of the incident.
