The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is leaving the security and order of the distribution of educational assistance this August 27, 2022 to the Philippine National Police.
According to ASec. Romel Lopez, security and orderliness were said to be included in what was agreed upon or discussed by the DSWD and Department of Interior and Local Government in the ceremonial Memorandum of Agreement signing that took place recently, the department also said to have coordinate to the NCRPO and to other regions as well, to ensure that the conflict that took place on the first Saturday of the payout will not happen again.
During the press conference this Friday at the 4th Floor Boardroom at the DSWD central office with ASec. Irene Dumlao, Lopez asked aid seekers not to go to the payout centers if they have not received a text message or text confirmation, which stated the place, time, and requirements to be brought to obtain said aid.
He also clarified that not everyone who receives or has already received a text message will get cash aid, they will first go through an assessment by social workers, and then if the student or parent are approved and proven that are in need that was the time they can proceed to other steps and to payout.
“Please don’t go to our payout centers if you haven’t received a text message yet, because there will be no one to accommodate you and your visit will be just wasted,” said ASec. Lopez.
The payout this Saturday will be for those who have online registration and they will not accept walk-ins for a meantime.
