A seven-year-old girl drowned after being momentarily left on the edge of a swimming pool following a swimming lesson in Navotas City Friday night.
A report of P/SSg. Karl Benzon de la Cruz said the tragedy happened at the Tumana Complex Swimming Pool and involved a grade 2 student and resident of Barangay NBBS Dagat-Dagatan.
The victim’s aunt told probers she last saw her sitting on the side of the pool and that as she walked to its other side to fetch his son she panicked when she looked and her niece was no longer there.
The woman jumped into the swimming pool and saw her niece on its floor. She and rescuers attempted to revive her but she was declared dead on arrival at the Navotas City Hospital. Cherk Balagtas
