Scammers who find vulnerability in less-savvy older people online may soon no longer see it as a window to exploit.
A Senate bill pushes for the establishment of inter-agency (DTI, DOJ, DOH, PhilPost) centralized service that would make elderly victims and their families abreast with information on syndicates and emerging modus operandi, and makes filing of complaints easier.
Lead agency DTI shall also collaborate with the Bangko Sentral, SEC, NTC, NBI and the PNP in ascertaining the various nature of scams.
