Matutuloy pala ang pagsali ni Binibining Pilipinas 2022 first runner-up Herlene Nicole Budol sa 2nd Miss Planet International pageant na gagawin sa Kampala, Uganda sa darating na November 19, 2022, kung saan makakalaban ni Herlene ang iba pang mga kandidata mula sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng mundo.
Ang kanyang manager na si Wilbert Tolentino ang tumatayong national director sa Pilipinas ng Miss Planet International kaya naman si Herlene na ang napili niyang ilaban sa nasabing international beauty pageant.
Taong 2019 nang itatag ang Miss Planet International at hindi pa nga ito masyadong sikat sa mundo ng beauty pageant.
Sa Instagram account ng pageant, in-announce na ang pagkakapili kay Herlene bilang isa sa 40 kandidata ay ayon sa manager ng aktres, may pahintulot na ito ng Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc..
“We are glad to announce that Herlene Nicole Budol first runner-up of Binibining Pilipinas 2022 will represent The Philippines at the Miss Planet International 2022 pageant to be held on November 19th in Kampala, Uganda ‘The Pearl of Africa.’ Candidates from all over the world will enjoy the beauty of Lake Victoria, world’s largest tropical lake, the most exuberant magic of the green of its nature that dominates Ugandan landscapes. Miss Planet International Organization’s mission is the compliance of the Sustainable Development Goals accepted by the United Nations members,” saad ng MPIO sa isang IG post.
“We are to give the tools to our candidates to strengthen their social projects and make possible a necessary generational change in order to Save our Planet and Save Humanity on Earth. Each candidate will have the opportunity to propose the creation of the Sustainable Development Goal number 18. We will gather all the proposals and forward them to the United Nations office,” dagdag nito.
Siyempre, happy ang dalaga sa panibagong opportunity para sa kanya.
“Naiiyak at nae-excite ako! Parang isang panaginip nga lang dahil para sa akin, isang malaking karangalan na nakatungtong ako sa national pageant at ngayon naman, isasabak na ako sa international level. May tatlong buwan pa rin akong preparasyon para lumaban ako sa Miss Planet International. Gagawin ko itong better version na makakapag-inspire sa mga kabataan because I know for myself that I am uniquely beautiful with a mission,” sabi ni Herlene.
