Navotas to build more school buildings

Mayor John Rey Tiangco led the groundbreaking of new buildings in four public schools in Navotas, Friday.

San Roque Elementary School, San Rafael Village Elementary School, and Kaunlaran High School will each have a four-storey building with eight classrooms.

Meanwhile, Dagat-Dagatan Elementary School will have a four-storey building with 12 classrooms.

In September, the city also started the construction of four-storey buildings in three public schools.

With the resumption of full face-to-face classes this year, Mayor John Rey Tiangco hopes for the swift completion of these buildings.

“Education has always been our priority. As much as possible, we want to avoid classrooms getting overcrowded with the influx of students and to minimize shifting classes,” he said.

“We hope to provide a conducive learning environment for students in Navotas to ensure that they would get the highest quality of education we can deliver,” he added.

Navotas inaugurated 11 school buildings with a total of 128 classrooms in March this year.

Two more schools are expected to have their groundbreaking ceremonies this year.
