Prost! Where the beer flows this weekend

The beer-drinking event of Munich, Germany is alive again as local pubs and bars celebrate Oktoberfest. The metro has started its series of Oktoberfest gatherings, but here’s a list of places where you can still enjoy a pint or two for a prost!

1. Say Hi to High Beer Set

Newport World Resorts celebrates Oktoberfest for the whole October at Bar 360. The Grand Bar and Lounge is offering a high beer set — German beer paired with scrumptious Filipino bar chow.

For P2,000 the set includes Crispy Pata, Fried Chicken, Chili con Carne, Sizzling Sausages, and a good brew beer. The High Beer Set is available the whole month from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.

Meanwhile, Casa Buenas has an alternative menu for people who prefer wine and tapas. For P1,500, enjoy red or white Sangria and six tapas specialties such as Quezo de Fonduta, Shrimp Isaw, Okoy de Pulpo, Tuna Tartare Kilawin, Salmon Tostada, and Grilled Sausage.

2. Month-long celebration with Brotzeit

For nine years, Brotzeit, a local resto-bar has been celebrating Oktoberfest in the Philippines.

This year, it serves a limited-edition ‘Schlenkerla Marzen,’ or “Smoky Beer,” a bittersweet beer from Bamberg, Germany.

Completing its celebration are Brotzeit’s signature pork knuckle, nürnberger stadwurst or coarse-ground ring bologna, thüringer sausages, fried chicken, and meatloaf.

Brotzeit offers an Oktoberfest with a month-long celebration until 29 October.

3. Authentic Oktoberfest feels

The biggest Oktoberfest gathering happens at Solaire as it partners with the German Club Manila. Say “Prost!” on 14 to 15 October at The Tent at Solaire Resorts and Casino.

After its success in 2019, Solaire and German Club Manila continued its partnership to bring the German tradition– from the beer, cuisine, to entertainment. Dishes to be served will be from the heirloom recipes of Solaire’s vice president of culinary Michael Dinges. Savor Munich-style salads and oven-fresh German bread and pretzels with cheese platter.
