Antipolo ambush: 3 killed

Three people were killed while three others were wounded after motorcycle-riding gunmen ambushed their convoy of motorcycles and one sedan Sunday night in Antipolo City.

Those slain were identified as Rodolfo de la Rosa, Andrei Mosquete and Dennis Payla, while wounded were Eduardo Dumangas, Avelina Dumangas, and one alias Gemima Amores.

The car plunged into the side of Marcos Highway when the gunmen aboard three motorcycles waylaid them around 9:30 p.m. at Sitio Cabading in Barangay Inarawan.

The police said the gunmen proceeded toward the town of Baras.

Meanwhile, the local government of Cainta, Rizal has sent another batch of children with special needs to a private hospital in Metro Manila for clinical assessment, administrator Keith Nieto said Monday.

The cost of the assessment is P6,000 per child, he said, adding one of the patients is “Juliana” who came from a broken family with three other siblings.

“Last September, Juliana’s mom needed to resign from her work so she could focus on Juliana because she is really difficult to handle. They really appreciated our program because they have already canvassed from the doctors and therapy sessions and they say they cannot afford it,” Nieto said.
