Bea happy over fans’ reaction to ‘Start Up PH’

Bea Alonzo is having the time of her life leading GMA Network’s Start Up PH.

The Kapuso actor, an avid fan of the K-drama, promised to give Dani Sison a “different flavor.”

The role, named Seo Dal-mi in the original series, was portrayed by Korean star Bae Suzy.

“Kapag gustong gusto mo talaga ‘yung isang project or series, halos wala ka nang maisip na gaganap na iba (If you really like a project or a series, you can’t think of no one else to portray in it),“ Alonzo said in a recent solo media conference.

She finds reservations by fans of the original title understandable albeit exhilarating.

“In fact, nagpapasalamat pa nga ako kasi mas na-challenge ako (I’m thankful that I feel challenged because of this),” she said.

Positive reviews poured in for the pilot week of the program.

Start-Up PH is the first-ever TV adaptation of the breakthrough 2020 South Korean series created by Hyeryeon Park and produced by Studio Dragon Corporation, co-produced by Studio Dragon and CJ ENM.

“I’m happy that Dani Sison resonates to the Filipino audience. I’m happy that they appreciate our efforts. They see it in a positive way,” Alonzo added.

Start-Up PH is under the helm of directors Dominic Zapata and Jerry Lopez Sineneng.

It follows Alonzo as Dani Sison who dreams of becoming the CEO of her own company. One day, she crosses paths with Tristan, played by Alden Richards, a coveted investor for start-up companies.

Dani soon finds herself in a love triangle between a man who is secretly her first love and another who pretends to be her ideal guy.

Start Up PH airs weeknights at 8:50 p.m. on GMA and at 11:30 p.m. from Monday to Thursday and at 11 p.m. every Friday on GTV.
