Army support facilities a huge boost

The Philippine Army Support Command facilities, nearing completion, is expected to sustain the operational and organizational functions of the soldiers and is seen to improve the Army support command’s logistics, storage and management hub.

According to PA chief-of-staff Maj. Gen. Roberto Capulong, the new facilities would further capacitate ASCOM in providing world-class logistical support to ground units.

PA commanding general Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr., meanwhile, said that the 29.8-hectare lot provided by the Department of National Defense, Armed Forces of the Philippines and Bases Conversion and Development Authority for the construction of 44 infrastructure and other mission-essential facilities in Camp Aquino will effectively and substantially benefit soldiers and sustain operational and organizational momentum.

The project is part of the 2017 memorandum of agreement signed by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority and the Department of the National Defense for the relocation of Army facilities — occupying an 11.5-hectare portion of the Bonifacio South Pointe Property in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

The BCDA earlier said the replicated facilities are expected to be completed by the end of this month. It has turned over an initial batch of 15 structures, including the commander’s quarters and student classrooms.
