Eatery peppered with gunfire

Two were killed, including a boy, while two others were wounded in a shooting by two men aboard a motorcycle Friday night in Barangay Tangos South, Navotas City.

The police identified the fatalities as Jhomarie Flores Santillan, 30, and his nine-year-old son. Daily Tribune has withheld the identities of those wounded for their safety.

The gunmen fired shots at the door of the carinderia said to be owned by Santilan, killing him and his son.

Police probers recovered seven spent ammunition casings and two bullet slugs.

Navotas Mayor John Rey Tiango strongly condemned the indiscriminate shooting, especially that a boy was among the victims.

“We, at the city government, extend our deep condolences to the family of the victims and vow to give them the assistance they need,” the mayor said.
