DOTr’s Bautista meets with Asean counterparts at 28th ATM

Aiming to build a strong foundation of partnership in the international arena, Department of Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista had an introductory engagement with his counterparts at the 28th ASEAN Transport Ministers’ Meeting and Associated Meetings on 16-17 October 2022, in Bali, Indonesia.

Bautista actively participated in the assembly, where various programs, activities, and propositions were discussed and underscored to attain the objectives of the Kuala Lumpur Transport Strategic Plan 2021-2025.

The meeting, chaired by Indonesian Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, also provided a productive and broad platform for the region’s transport leaders and partners to further solidify cooperation and collaboration that would advance ASEAN community building and regional integration.

The 28th ATM was successfully held back to back with the 54th ASEAN Senior Transport Officials Meeting and Associated Meetings, which for this year was primarily centered on the proposed initiatives for cooperation to strengthen transport connectivity, as well as recommendations on the adoption of outcome documents and signing of landmark agreements, particularly the ASEAN-European Union Comprehensive Air Transport Agreement and the ASEAN Agreement on Aeronautical and Maritime Search and Rescue Cooperation.
