First Lady promises better Palace press area

First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos has committed to improving the offices being used by journalists covering President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. inside the Malacañang Complex before the year ends.

The President’s wife made the announcement when she made a surprise visit to the Press Working Area at the New Executive Building on Tuesday to personally inspect the building.

“I am here to make your Press Working Area really nice,” Araneta-Marcos said as she walked around PWA. “I promise before Christmas, this will all be better.”

The First Lady also checked the building’s comfort rooms and found toilets that are either leaking or not working properly.

NEB is where the Office of the Press Secretary and the Malacañang Press Briefing Room, where Palace press conferences are held, are located.

Offices being used by the Malacañang Press Corps, the Malacañang Cameramen’s Association, and the Presidential Photojournalists’ Association can be found at the NEB as well.

NEB used to be the office of the now-defunct Presidential Communications Operations Office.
