‘Peeping Tom killer’ collared

A man wanted for homicide was caught in Pasig City after going into hiding for almost five years, city police officer-in-charge P/Col. Celerino Sacro said Saturday.

Pasig and National Capital Region Police Office cops arrested the 23-year-old accused identified only as “RP” at Greenpark Village in Barangay Dela Paz.

Roxas City regional trial court Judge Ignacio Alajar issued the arrest warrant against “RP” on 10 August 2018.

The accused was detained temporarily at the Pasig City police detention facility pending a commitment order from the court.

“RP” was accused of fatally shooting an alleged peeping Tom as the latter was ogling his cousin in Roxas City.

Meanwhile, the Pasig police said they are closely monitoring several warehouses and condominium units for possible involvement of their occupants in the narcotics trade.

Colonel Sacro said they were instructed by newly installed Eastern Police District director P/Col. Wilson Asueta to crack down on the use of said properties in the drug trade.

“Our district director has instructed our station commanders to inspect warehouses and condominium units within our area of responsibility to ensure that these are not used as drug dens or drug laboratories,” Celerino told Daily Tribune.

He said they have put under surveillance high-value targets involved in drugs.
