Navotas City Mayor John Rey Tiangco condemned the recent killing of his fellow Navoteño in Brgy. Tangos South.
The local government extended its condolences to the victim’s family.
Mayor Tiangco also promised to provide assistance to the bereaved family.
He immediately ordered the Navotas City Police to conduct a thorough investigation of the incident and solve the case.
According to the police report, Jhomarie Flores and her 9-year-old son died at Tondo Medical Center while two others, including Flores’ live-in partner, were injured.
Around 8:00 in the evening, the victims were preparing food in an eatery along Bagong Kalsada St., Barangay Tangos South, when one of the two suspects, who arrived onboard a motorcycle, shot the victims through the eatery’s window.
After the incident, the suspects fled while the victims were rushed to the hospital.
Flores and his son did not survive.
The combined personnel of the Navotas Police Tactical Motorcycle Riding Unit, Intel Section and Sub Station 2 conducted a follow-up operation but failed to apprehend the suspects.
The investigation is ongoing to determine the identity of the suspects and the motive behind the shooting.
